model of 1935 500cc L.P.5

Stevens 1934 500cc Model

Ok, so it`s not a Stevens that you can sit on and ride, but this remarkable model rightly deserves a place in this archive just for the dedication and skill of the engineer who made it. He happened to own the full size original as well, from which he obtained all the information to make it. The attention to detail is amazing and it is a fully working model, absolutely deserving of the leading article in the Model Engineering magazine for December 14th 1950.
It was spotted by a gentleman at a national model exhibition in the early 1950`s at either the Free Trade Hall Manchester or in London. He would have been about 20 at the time and remembers preferring the model as it didnt have the oil leak of the original which was displayed with it ! The original is a 500cc L.P.5, registration CMT 771, and it was owned by a Mr G. F. Wills. Any information as to the whereabouts of the model or the original would be most welcome.
